Liberty Public Schools Earns AdvancED Accreditation

Liberty Public Schools has officially earned accreditation from AdvancED.  All became official on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 when AdvancED Director, Dr. Tina Woolsey presented LPS Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker with the certificate of achievement.

AdvancED is the parent organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).   This action was taken at the AdvancED Accreditation Commission meeting held in Tempe, Arizona in June 2017.

AdvancED provides nationally-recognized accreditation, the purpose of which is continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance.  To earn accreditation, schools must meet AdvancED's high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement.  The AdvancED review team visited Liberty Public School in April 2017.

“To see where we fair against districts held to the same standards as 32,000 other school districts around the country, and to see our performance level exceeding those averages, is gratifying,” Tucker said. “It is a testament to the work of our leaders, our principals, our teachers, and also the support of our community for our schools.”

AdvancED accreditation is recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school, but also assures parents that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice.

"Liberty Public Schools is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement," said Dr. Mark Elgart, President/CEO of AdvancED.  "AdvancED Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners."
