Meet the Board

David Evans

David Evans is passionate about the value public education can create for learners and the broader community. He brings experience in health care, finance and human resources to the Liberty Public Schools Board of Education. Working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City prepared David to serve in a position requiring the highest levels of public trust and transparency. As a human resources executive at a rapidly growing technology company, David developed the expertise required to run large organizations and a deep appreciation for the capabilities our learners need to be successful in the job market of the 21st century. Across industries, he has demonstrated an ability to find innovative solutions and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.

David and his wife, Laura, have three sons who have attended Liberty schools over the past 14 years. David has been an active leader in youth sports, scouting and church programs.

David graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri, and earned an Economics degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He has served on civic and industry boards in the Kansas City area. He looks forward to continuing to serve our young people and community on the Board.

David was elected to the board in April of 2012.

Kim-Marie Graham earned her Bachelors degree in Communication from the University of California at San Diego. She relocated to Kansas City in 1991 and to Liberty in 1995. She continued her education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, completing a Masters in Public Administration with emphasis in Human Resources. She spent almost fifteen years in a variety of Human Resources roles for an international banking company. Her strengths are strategic planning, employee relations, team building, facilitation and training, interviewing and talent selection.

Kim-Marie is married to Kevin, who is an alumni of Liberty High School, and they have two daughters. She became interested in serving on the Board when her daughter Kennedy began kindergarten at Manor Hill. Her younger daughter, Kellyn, will join her sister there in 2013. While working, Kim-Marie was recognized for her community service activities and she welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Liberty School District community through her work on the Board.

Scott Connor

D. Scott Connor was appointed to serve on the LPS Board of Education in November, 2009. He was elected to a three-year term in April, 2010 and then re-elected to the Board in April 2013 & 2016. He served as Board Vice-President from 2010-2012, and Board President From 2012-2015.
He received his undergraduate degree in Information Technology from Park College, and earned a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Finance from Rockhurst University.

Mr. Connor is the father of six and the grandfather of four. He and his wife Denise have twin daughters attending Liberty High School. Two of their grandchildren will attend Liberty North High School in a few years.

He has spent much of his career as a manager and Director for three well-respected Kansas City companies: the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, and American Century Investments. He has coached multiple youth teams in Liberty Parks and Rec programs as well as football teams in both the Pop Warner and North Suburban youth football leagues. He has participated in the District's "Watch D.O.G.S" program and is a current PTA / PTSA member.

Mr. Connor's reason for serving on the school board is to help professionally manage the multi-million dollar business that our District has become to help ensure its long-term health and success. He is committed to communicating his perspective on issues to District patrons, and listening to feedback from LPS staff, parents, students and community members during the Board's decision-making processes.

Angie Reed

Angie Reed served as an educator for 28 years, including several years as an 8th grade Special Education teacher at LPS before retiring in May 2013.  A resident of Liberty for 20 years, Angie is an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where she has taught 5th grade religious education for the past 18 years, along with working with confirmation candidates.

Angie considers herself passionate about all aspects of education, especially professional development, curriculum, and preparation of students for life after graduation.  She served a total of four years on the LPS committee, Team Liberty, while a teacher in the district.  She has also been a member of the district committee, Vision 20/20, for the past two years.

Angie received her Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education and Special Education (K-12) from Eastern Kentucky University and her Master’s Degree in Secondary School Administration from the University of Central Missouri.

Her reason for serving on the Board includes her background in the classroom that provides her with a unique perspective that will be helpful as the Board continues to move forward with the multiple initiatives that are currently underway at LPS.

Angie is married to husband, Randy, and has two daughters, Danielle and Kelley, both LPS graduates.

Andrew Roffmann

M. Andrew Roffmann has been a resident of the Liberty school district since 1998.  He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Truman State University and his Juris Doctor from University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is the owner of The Roffmann Law Office, LLC, located on the Liberty square, where he practices primarily in the areas of family law, criminal defense and traffic.

Andy has been a licensed attorney since 1996. He has practiced in both the public and the private sector, including working for the Missouri Division of Child Support Enforcement, the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office, and serving as law clerk to an Associate Circuit Court Judge in Jackson County, Missouri. He is trained as a Guardian Ad Litem and as a mediator. He was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers-Rising Stars Edition in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

Andy is married to Heather Clemens Roffmann, and they have 2 children - Chloe and Avery. Andy also serves on the Board of Directors for the Transitions Family Visitation Program.

Kent Peterson was appointed to serve on the LPS Board of Education in February 2016. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Kansas State University. He has been a resident of the Liberty School District since 1997. Kent and his wife Cindy have two sons, Austin and Lucas, who are both graduates of Liberty Public Schools.

Kent has worked in the banking industry for over 20 years and is employed as Market President for Hawthorn Bank managing the Liberty loan production office for the bank since April 2012. He has been active in the Liberty community serving on many local non-profit agency boards and currently serves as the President of the Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, President of the East Clay Rotary Club, and is the past Chairperson and Treasurer of the Liberty School District Foundation. Kent also served as a member of Liberty Public Schools original Vision 20/20 Steering Committee.

Kent’s passion for being on the Board of Education is driven by his desire that all students in the district receive the same opportunities in their education that were given to his two sons during their time in the district.
