Teacher Mentor Program
In the Liberty Public School District, we strive to equip our new teachers with all possible resources they will need to have a successful transition from student teacher to classroom teacher. One asset we provide is a veteran teacher leader to serve as a mentor for the first year. The mentor provides guidance in concentrated conversations which permeate all facets of the profession including, but not limited to, classroom preparation, building procedures, curriculum pacing, and district assessment expectations. Innovation and Learning Coaches are another asset crucial to the development of our newest members to the Liberty instructional team. All first and second year teachers will have the opportunity to partner with an Innovation and Learning Coach for continuous mentorship, coaching, and professional development. The goal is to provide non- evaluative, differentiated support for our new teachers.
